Lego has topped itself again with the Grand Emporium set. I completed construction of the set in about 4 1/2 hours, with the help of my five-month old son. Okay, he was wasn't too much help. As with the other modular sets, there are three floors plus a roof with outstanding effects. The first floor sells clothes and jewelry, while the second floor is four housewares (it's the most bare), while the third floor sells toys. Only the first floor has a "checkout counter." Some of the elements that stood out for me: - intricate tile design outside the building - ice cream stand - escalator to all floors (my mind would've melted if it had actually rotated like an escalator, but alas it does not) - mannequins on window display - billboard on the roof - window washer There was a definite wow factor with my older children on this set, just like with Green Grocer.
