EFX Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet Prop Replica Reviews
My review for this eFX ANH (A New Hope) helmet is pretty much the same as my review for the eFX Empire Strikes Back helmet, see below. The difference between this helmet and the Empire helmet are grey teeth instead of black, and only 2 black stripes in the grey area of the ears compared to 3 on the Empire helmet. The grey side stripe areas have 7 black stripes and the dark blue jaw stripes count to 13 just like the Empire helmet from eFX. My modified review from the Empire helmet follows: This helmet from eFX is the ANH "Stunt" helmet used in Star Wars, A New Hope (the real first Star Wars). eFX is the officially licensed seller of Star Wars replicas at this time so you are dealing with Lucas approved products. "Stunt" means it is modeled after the Storm Trooper helmets worn by Storm Troopers in the movie background and not the ones worn by Luke and Han, which are called "Hero" helmets (they are much more expensive from eFX). The main difference between "Stunt" and "Hero" are the flat green eye lenses. The Hero helmets have bubble eye pieces that look better. The Hero helmets also have real screws in the earpieces and shorter frowns. So enough of the minutia. For more info on the differences, Google "Hero versus Stunt". The Good: Glossy. It's white plastic, but looks very cool. It is shiny just like the ones in the movies. 2 mic tips on either side of the mouth with metal grills that are authentic, just like the real thing. Exactly like the real thing. Rubber bottom lining around the entire helmet and a rubber brow, that's what you don't get with the cheaper helmets. White styrofoam-ish head padding inside and around the eyepieces that makes it wearable. You can see out of the green eyepieces. Small mesh breathing holes in between the teeth. Decent eFX boxing. The Bad: A very obvious seam and gap where the lower jaw connects to the rest of the helmet. It sucks. If you are buying this as a display piece you probably won't care. But there is a gap in the plastic and you'll see it. Green flat eyepieces. That is fairly accurate for a Stunt helmet, but darker lenses would make it look better. Bubble eyes would be even better. You can modify it. Made in China. Not sure if that is really a minus. Plastic, not fiberglass. It is lightweight but not that light. For $200 it could weigh a little more. The plastic creaks a little while you mess with it. The black mouth speaker piece is painted black plastic and not rubber like the really expensive helmets. ... So, is it worth it to buy this ANH helmet from eFX if you already own the Empire helmet and the only difference is grey teeth? OF COURSE IT IS!. this is my EFX Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet Prop Replica reviews
